March 9 is International DJ Day. On this occasion, we congratulate all of you—and ourselves as well!!!
The administration of the online radio Minatrix.FM is delighted to congratulate all masters of turntables and headphones — DJs of all countries and genres — on their professional holiday!
Every year this day is celebrated on March 9, right after International Women’s Day. For the first time, DJs around the world received official congratulations in 2002, although the exact origins of the holiday are not fully documented and are still surrounded by certain legends.
According to the most widespread version, World DJ Day emerged as part of an international charity campaign held from March 2 to March 9, 2002. The goal of the initiative was to raise funds in support of children with disabilities. The campaign concluded with a gala dinner in London, where DJs were officially honored for their contribution to culture, music, and charity.
As a result of the campaign, according to various estimates, around 1 million US dollars were raised, which became a strong argument for recognizing DJing not only as a profession, but also as a socially significant phenomenon. Even though some details of this story have become mythologized over time, the holiday itself has been alive and evolving for more than two decades.
Today, World DJ Day is a symbol of respect for those who shape musical moods, unite people, and move culture forward.
We sincerely congratulate all DJs on their professional holiday and wish you:
-
inspiration and fresh musical ideas
-
powerful tracks and a recognizable sound
-
a grateful audience and loyal listeners
-
professional growth and bright performances
May music always lead you forward!
With respect,
The Minatrix.FM Team
