Адаптация стихотворения Константина Николаевича Батюшкова "Мечта". Написано в 1802 или 1803 год. Поэту тогда было 15 - 16 лет. В тот период он жил в Петербурге и находился под сильным влиянием своего дяди - поэта и просветителя Михаила Никитича Муравьёва. Именно М.Н.Муравьёв стал первым наставником и критиком юного автора. Впервые стихотворение опубликовано в 1806 году в журнале "Любитель словесности". К.Н.Батюшков не оставил текст в первой редакции. Он многократно возвращался к "Мечте", дорабатывал её. В итоге финальную версию он включил в свой итоговый сборник "Опыты в стихах и прозе" в1817 - и поместил в конце книги, как итог многолетних размышлений о природе творчества. В процессе шлифовки образы стали зрелее: из "лёгкой забавы" мечта превратилась в спасительную силу, помогающую преодолеть жизненные испытания. Основная идея стихотворения - "мечтанье есть душа поэтов и стихов". Мечта порождает поэзию и даёт возможность обрести духовную свободу, "оковы променять на цепь весёлых роз". В тексте Константин Николаевич обращается к Музе, названной Мечтою, и показывает, как через фантазию поэт обретает бессмертие в творчестве. Батюшков особенно любил это стихотворение.
