h6itam is a Spanish music producer and artist known for work at the intersection of phonk, Brazilian phonk, montagem and contemporary electronic music. The name Haitam Bahraoui Zakari appears in the songwriting credits of a number of his releases. h6itam’s best-known tracks include FUNK OSCURO, FUNK SIGILO, CANTO DE LUNA, Funk Secreto and MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA.

The musician himself identifies Spain as his country. At the same time, his most popular recordings are closely connected to the Brazilian club scene: they use funk carioca rhythms, Portuguese-language vocal fragments and montagem techniques. As a result, h6itam is often listed simultaneously under Electronic, Phonk, Brazilian Phonk and Funk. None of these labels alone fully describes his discography.

What is known about h6itam

h6itam keeps his public biography relatively private. There is no reliable information about his date of birth, specific hometown, musical education or early involvement in music. The artist has not published a detailed account of his childhood or first years as a producer, so stories about a “home studio,” early idols or specific circumstances surrounding the beginning of his career that appear on some websites remain unverified.

The name Haitam Bahraoui Zakari is confirmed by professional music credits. On CANTO DE LUNA, he is credited as a composer, while h6itam is listed as producer. The credits for FUNK OSCURO name Haitam Bahraoui as composer and producer. This shows that h6itam is not only the performing artist behind the project but is also directly involved in creating the material.

Early releases

h6itam’s official discography on major streaming platforms can be traced back to 2023. One of his early works was Crab Rave (Phonk), released on February 17, 2023. The title itself directly associated the producer’s music with phonk.

On August 30 of the same year, Life In Brazil followed. This period pointed toward the direction that would later become central to h6itam’s catalog: a move away from more familiar phonk models toward Brazilian rhythms and short-form electronic tracks.

In 2024, he released MÉXICO PHONK, FUNK IRIS with DE4I, and Funk Secreto, recorded with STRAWANGLE featuring MC RP VK and MC Da 12.

FUNK OSCURO

On October 24, 2024, h6itam released FUNK OSCURO together with ICEDMANE and DYSMANE through D.Y.S Records. The track became one of the most notable recordings from the early stage of his career.

FUNK OSCURO is built around short repeating vocal material, a dense electronic rhythm section and bass. There is almost no conventional verse-chorus development: the track functions as a rhythmic construction in which variation comes from vocal processing, filtering, pauses and changes in the density of the arrangement.

Alongside the original recording, slowed, super slowed, ultra slowed and sped up versions were released. This format later became a permanent feature of h6itam’s discography.

MOLECULAR

On January 4, 2025, MOLECULAR was released — the first full-length album in h6itam’s official catalog. The release came out through EVO79 and contains 30 tracks.

Formally, it has a large track list, but there are ten independent compositions on the album. Each appears in regular, slowed and super slowed versions.

MOLECULAR clearly illustrates the producer’s working method. h6itam often creates music not alone but together with other writers, while remaining the central participant in the project. Co-authors and rhythmic character change from track to track, but the general model remains consistent: short form, heavy low end, vocal loops and very few elements unrelated directly to the groove.

FUNK SIGILO

On March 14, 2025, h6itam released FUNK SIGILO. The original version runs for about one minute and twenty seconds. Slowed, super slowed and ultra slowed edits were released alongside it.

The track is built around a Portuguese-language vocal fragment that is repeated and chopped over a hard electronic rhythm. h6itam is credited as both writer and producer.

The slowed versions of FUNK SIGILO developed their own audience and effectively exist in the catalog on equal terms with the original. This is characteristic of h6itam’s music: changing the speed is not treated as a random bonus version of a single, but as a full method of reinterpreting the original material.

CANTO DE LUNA

On May 16, 2025, h6itam, DYSMANE and ICEDMANE released CANTO DE LUNA through D.Y.S Records. In the songwriting credits, Haitam Bahraoui Zakari is listed as composer, while h6itam is credited as producer.

Compared with FUNK SIGILO and FUNK OSCURO, the track is noticeably more melodic. Instead of a predominantly rhythmic Portuguese-language vocal loop, it uses a Spanish-language vocal line, while the synthesizer part plays a more independent role.

CANTO DE LUNA also exists in several versions: original, slowed, super slowed, ultra slowed and sped up. Instrumental versions were released later as well.

2025 releases

2025 was an especially active year for h6itam. In addition to MOLECULAR, FUNK SIGILO and CANTO DE LUNA, he released FUNK EXOTICO, FUNK ATOMICO, FUNK QUANTICO, FUNK AXIONADO, SEU MOMENTO, FUNK MARGINAL and a number of collaborative releases.

Most of these recordings were released in a compact EP format: one composition plus several alternate-speed versions. As a result, the total number of tracks in h6itam’s discography is considerably larger than the number of distinct compositions.

The artist is not tied exclusively to one label. His music has been released through D.Y.S Records, EVO79, Black 17 Media, Medialord, SAVAGE$TATION and other companies.

MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA

On January 16, 2026, h6itam, n7san7os and Brazilian artist Mc Menor Do Alvorada released MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA. The release contains six edits: original, slowed, super slowed, ultra slowed, sped up and super sped up.

The original version runs for 1 minute 36 seconds. Professional catalogs classify the track as Electronic or Electronica despite its obvious connection to Brazilian funk and montagem.

The composition is built around Portuguese-language vocals by Mc Menor Do Alvorada, repeating phrases, dense electronic percussion and a short bass pattern. This method of construction is much closer to contemporary montagem and Brazilian funk carioca than to classic American funk.

MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA became one of the central works in h6itam’s catalog. The slowed edits also gained particular popularity.

MONTAGEM MONARCA and 2026 releases

In May 2026, h6itam again teamed up with n7san7os and Mc Menor Do Alvorada for MONTAGEM MONARCA. Around the same period, he released MONTAGEM RELIQUIA, FUNK REAL, FUNK FATUO, FUNK SUSURRO, FUNK PHOBIA, MONTAGEM PIRATA, Funk Severo and other releases.

On August 28, 2026, the EP MONTAGEM SAUDADE appeared. As of early September 2026, it is the most recent release listed in h6itam’s main Apple Music catalog.

How to classify h6itam’s genre correctly

The word FUNK appears in the titles of dozens of h6itam tracks, but describing him as a classic funk artist would be inaccurate.

Historical funk emerged in the United States in the 1960s out of soul and rhythm and blues. Its foundation is syncopated groove, expressive bass guitar, live drums and rhythmic interaction between instruments. James Brown, Sly & The Family Stone and Parliament-Funkadelic represent this tradition.

Phonk has an entirely different origin. Its roots lie in Memphis rap and Southern hip-hop of the 1990s. Classic phonk is characterized by Memphis vocal samples, 808s, lo-fi processing, chopped & screwed techniques and a dark atmosphere. Additional confusion comes from Brazilian funk, or funk carioca. Despite the word funk in its name, this genre has its own history and musical language and is not a direct continuation of 1970s American funk. Its modern electronic branch, including funk automotivo and montagem, strongly influenced the music that international listeners and streaming platforms often describe as Brazilian phonk.

This is where most of h6itam’s catalog belongs. His music includes techniques derived from phonk, but the rhythmic foundation of many tracks is connected to Brazilian funk and montagem. The most accurate description is therefore an electronic producer working at the intersection of Brazilian phonk, Brazilian funk and montagem.

Catalog classifications confirm how blurred these boundaries are. FUNK SIGILO, CANTO DE LUNA and MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA, for example, are classified by Shazam as Electronic; Apple Music lists MOLECULAR under Dance, while individual releases appear as Electronic, Dance or Funk. These tags are useful for cataloging but are not strict musicological definitions.

Sound characteristics

A typical h6itam track is built around a small number of elements. At the center are usually programmed drums, bass, one synthesizer motif and a short vocal loop. Instead of multiple verses and choruses, the music relies on repetition and gradual variation of a single rhythmic block.

Vocals often function as part of the percussion. Individual words and phrases are chopped into fragments, repeated, pitch-shifted and combined with the drums. This technique is particularly clear in FUNK SIGILO and MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA.

Most of his best-known tracks are short, often lasting between one and two minutes. A composition introduces its main rhythm quickly and moves almost immediately into its most recognizable section. This structure is typical of contemporary montagem, where the rhythmic cycle itself matters more than the development of a traditional song form.

CANTO DE LUNA stands somewhat apart from this model because of its more prominent melody and Spanish-language vocal line, showing that h6itam is capable of working with more than aggressive rhythm-driven material.

Why h6itam releases so many slowed and sped up versions

Alternative speeds have effectively become part of h6itam’s release system. A single EP may contain the original, slowed, super slowed, ultra slowed, sped up and super sped up versions.

This does not mean that each version is a separate new composition. For example, MOLECULAR contains 30 tracks but only ten original works. FUNK SIGILO consists of four versions of one track, while MONTAGEM ALQUIMIA has six.

Slowing down a track changes more than the tempo. The bass becomes heavier, the vocals drop in pitch and the spaces between beats feel different. Faster versions, by contrast, emphasize percussion and rhythmic density. In h6itam’s case, some slowed versions have become more popular than the original recordings.

Collaborations

A significant part of h6itam’s catalog was created with other producers and artists. His regular or recurring collaborators include DYSMANE, ICEDMANE, n7san7os, HIMXN, nikenmar, STRAWANGLE, prodbydxm and DE4I.
