DubVision — is a Dutch electronic dance music project created by brothers Stephan Leicher and Victor Leicher. The duo became best known for melodic progressive house and festival-oriented electronic music. DubVision’s discography includes releases on Spinnin' Records, Axtone Records, Armada Music and STMPD RCRDS, as well as collaborations with Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Alesso, Sander van Doorn, Firebeatz and other artists from the electronic music scene.
Early musical development
Stephan and Victor Leicher were involved with music from childhood. According to the brothers themselves, their parents insisted on a musical education, so both studied piano and were introduced not only to classical music but also to jazz, blues and funk.
Victor was the first to become interested in electronic music production. He taught himself how to use music software and experimented with producing tracks on a computer. Stephan later joined him, after which the brothers began writing music together on a regular basis and chose the name DubVision.
Among the artists who influenced their approach to electronic music, the brothers have particularly highlighted Axwell and the Swedish school of progressive house. In various interviews, they have also named Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Alesso and other representatives of melodic European house.
First releases and Spinnin' Records
Releases under the DubVision name began appearing in the early 2010s. During the project’s first years, the brothers released music through smaller electronic labels before moving into a more prominent phase with Spinnin' Records.
On 27 February 2012, All By Myself was released as DubVision’s first official release on Spinnin' Records. The track received support from David Guetta, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia, Sander van Doorn and a number of other DJs.
That same year, DubVision teamed up with Canadian duo Project 46 for You & I, featuring vocals by Welsh singer Donna Lewis. Released on Spinnin' Records, the track became one of the recordings that helped establish DubVision within the early-2010s progressive house scene.
Another important recording from this period was their remix of Scottish group Discopolis’ Falling (Committed To Sparkle Motion), released by Axtone Records. These productions helped shape the sound that became associated with DubVision: large chord progressions, expressive melodies and climaxes designed for festival sound systems.
2013–2014: Into the Light, Backlash and Turn It Around
In 2013, DubVision collaborated with Sander van Doorn and American project Mako on Into the Light, featuring vocals by Mariana Bell. Released on DOORN Records, the track became one of the notable progressive house collaborations of the period.
That same year, the brothers also contributed to Triton together with Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. The track was used as the official anthem of Dance Valley 2013.
2014 proved especially productive for DubVision. Together with Firebeatz, they released Rockin', followed by Hollow, Destination with Australian duo Feenixpawl and one of the project’s most recognisable solo tracks, Turn It Around.
The same period also brought Backlash (Martin Garrix Edit). DubVision’s original track was reworked by Martin Garrix and released through Spinnin' Records. The release reached number one on Beatport’s overall chart and received widespread DJ support, including from Tiësto, Hardwell, Avicii, Afrojack, Nicky Romero and other leading names from the EDM scene of the time.
Turn It Around also became an important entry in DubVision’s catalogue. The musicians have said that the original version had already been written in 2013, but the track was later reworked as festival electronic music began shifting back towards a more melodic progressive house sound.
Releases in the second half of the 2010s
In 2015, DubVision released several new tracks, including Broken, Vertigo with Ruby Prophet and I Found Your Heart featuring vocals by Emeni.
Over the following years, the project continued to work with both vocal tracks and instrumental festival music. Its catalogue expanded with Million Miles, Sweet Harmony, Under the Stars, Something Real and collaborations with other producers.
Their work with Afrojack occupies a notable place in this period. In 2017, the artists released New Memories and later continued working together on additional tracks.
In 2018, DubVision and Firebeatz introduced a separate collaborative project called METAFO4R. Its debut single was Best Part of Me, followed later by Rave Machine and Grollow.
Collaborations with Alesso, Martin Garrix and Afrojack
In 2020, DubVision released the collaborative single One Last Time with Alesso. The track retained the melodic progressive house foundation with which both acts had long been associated.
A significant part of DubVision’s later discography is connected with the STMPD RCRDS circle and Martin Garrix. In 2022, Martin Garrix and DubVision released Starlight (Keep Me Afloat), featuring vocals by Maltese songwriter and singer Shaun Farrugia. The track appeared on Garrix’s album Sentio.
In 2024, the collaboration continued with Empty and Wherever You Are. The latter also featured Shaun Farrugia.
DubVision have also worked repeatedly with Afrojack. In addition to New Memories, their shared discography includes Back to Life, the Lucas & Steve collaboration Anywhere With You and the 2024 release Underwater.
Another World
On 26 July 2024, DubVision released their debut studio album Another World on STMPD RCRDS. The original edition consisted of ten tracks.
The album brought together several directions the project had developed over the previous years: festival progressive house, vocal electronic music and a more contemporary mainstage sound. Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Shaun Farrugia, Jem Cooke and other musicians took part in the record.
The album includes Empty, Underwater, Wherever You Are, Out of the Dark, Take Me to Another World and Home.
An expanded edition, Another World (Deluxe), was released on 7 March 2025 and contains 14 tracks.
Later releases
After Another World, the project continued releasing new music. In 2025, DubVision’s catalogue added Live My Life with Nicky Romero and Oaks, Endless Dreamers with Sick Individuals, Follow Your Heart with Jordan Jade and Rise Again.
In January 2026, the single Run was released on STMPD RCRDS.
Musical style
Progressive house remains DubVision’s main musical direction, particularly the festival-oriented form that developed within the European EDM scene of the early 2010s.
Many of the project’s classic productions are characterised by layered synthesiser chords, a clearly defined melodic theme, gradual dynamic build-up and a large climactic drop. This approach can be heard particularly clearly in Turn It Around, Backlash, Destination and later collaborations with Martin Garrix.
At the same time, DubVision’s discography is not limited to a single formula. At different stages, the brothers have explored electro house, harder mainstage production, vocal dance music and elements of future rave.
Within the broader context of electronic music in the 2010s and 2020s, DubVision are primarily associated with the melodic side of festival progressive house — a style in which harmony and melody play as important a role as the rhythmic drop.
