Бо4а

Bo4a is a Russian rapper, lyricist and organiser of hip-hop events from Khabarovsk. The musician’s real name is Alexey Konstantinovich Bochagov. He was born on March 19, 1994, and is one of the representatives of the Far Eastern underground hip-hop and rap scene, where particular importance is placed on lyrical content, distinctive delivery, independence and loyalty to one’s principles.

Bo4a’s work is closely connected with the culture of the Russian Far East. In his compositions, the artist addresses social problems, inner conflicts, personal responsibility, keeping one’s word and the need to preserve an independent position even under pressure from others. His music is distinguished by a hard sound, direct expression and a desire to speak about issues that people often prefer to ignore or keep silent about.

Childhood and the origin of his stage name

Alexey Bochagov was born in the city of Amursk and later grew up in Khabarovsk. His stage name originated during childhood. At that time, teenagers in almost every neighbourhood had their own nicknames, commonly referred to as street names. The nickname Bocha was derived from the surname Bochagov, while the Cyrillic letter “ч” was later replaced by the number 4, creating the recognisable spelling Bo4a.

His interest in hip-hop culture developed in the early 2000s. Like many members of his generation, Alexey began with graffiti. Together with other writers, he participated in nighttime bombing sessions, left works on the walls of his hometown and gradually immersed himself in the atmosphere of street culture.

Russian and international rap from that period was constantly playing in the future performer’s headphones. Over time, his fascination with the visual side of hip-hop was complemented by a desire to express his own thoughts through music. Bo4a began writing his first lyrics while still at school, realising that creativity rather than the exact sciences was his true calling.

First recordings and the group “Подземный Сорт”

Bo4a’s first track was recorded around 2010 and was titled “Цена слов.” His early work already revealed the themes that would later become central to his music: responsibility for one’s words, honesty with oneself and others, rejection of empty promises and opposition to a superficial lifestyle.

In 2011, Bo4a became one of the founders of the rap group “Подземный Сорт,” which also included two other members. The group’s name reflected its underground orientation and desire to work outside mainstream musical trends.

The group broke up after Alexey completed his military service. The other members gradually moved away from regular music-making and became interested in new directions that did not correspond with Bo4a’s creative principles. In 2016, the performer began a full-fledged solo career, having fully developed his own position and approach to creating rap music.

The Khabarovsk scene and the “Для своих” festivals

Bo4a was involved not only in recording songs but also in developing the local hip-hop community. Between 2014 and 2018, he took part in organising concerts by well-known representatives of the Russian underground scene in Khabarovsk.

The artist performed on the same stage as The Chemodan Clan, ОУ74 and TRUEтень, helped organisers promote events, recorded video invitations and provided informational support for concerts.

Bo4a later became the organiser of the Far Eastern hip-hop festivals “Для своих.” Their programmes were not limited to rap performances: representatives of breakdancing, beatboxing and graffiti culture also took part.

The first festival was held in 2019 at the Bison bar in Khabarovsk. The second event took place in 2020 at an unusual location: an abandoned factory. The organisers cleaned and prepared the space themselves, built the stage, installed lighting and sound equipment and decorated the venue with graffiti. This format emphasised the festival’s independent character and its connection with classic street culture.

The EP “Летальный исход” and solo releases

One of the notable works in Bo4a’s discography was the EP “Летальный исход,” released on January 23, 2023. The record was created together with the performer Млечный Сок, while the musical foundation of the release consisted of beats by producer KNOX PESTIS.

The year 2024 was especially productive for the artist. During this period, he released a series of solo singles:

  • “Старина Марк”;
  • “Откройте окна”;
  • “Бросок”;
  • “Осень 29”;
  • “Весёлый Роджер”;
  • “Воин”;
  • “Невесомость.”

On December 31 of the same year, he released “Верность стилю,” recorded with TEMMI DOGG from the BLACK TRIBE collective.

Among the most important songs of his career, Bo4a highlights “Весёлый Роджер,” “Осень 29” and one of the compositions from the album “Полный контакт.” These works reflect different aspects of his creativity, ranging from inner reflection and personal experiences to hard statements about principles, society and human character.

In August 2025, Bo4a and Cemp Red released the collaborative single “С разных берегов.” By that time, the album “Полный контакт” had been almost completely mixed and was undergoing final sound refinement.

At the end of the year, he released the single “Свидимся ещё,” which symbolised the performer’s temporary move to Primorsky Krai.

In 2026, the artist’s discography was expanded with the singles “Январская” and “Самопал.” On July 3, Bo4a released his full-length album “Полный контакт,” and on July 10 presented the collaborative composition “Раздаточный механизм” with performer ОмутТ ТамМ.

According to the musician, several of his other singles were removed from digital platforms following legislative changes and stricter requirements regarding the content of musical works.

“Старина Марк” and JDM culture

One of Bo4a’s most recognisable songs became the single “Старина Марк,” released on May 24, 2024. The composition gained wide popularity among fans of Japanese cars and Far Eastern JDM culture.

The artist himself has owned a 1993 Toyota Mark II JZX90 for approximately ten years. Japanese cars have a special status in the Russian Far East, while models from the Mark II family are valued for their recognisable appearance, technical capabilities and reliability.

The idea for the song arose from the observation that the large community of Toyota Mark II owners and enthusiasts did not effectively have its own musical anthem. While selecting a suitable instrumental, Bo4a chose a beat by Macqueen Beats.

After the composition was released, the artist contacted administrators of JDM communities and automotive pages. The song spread quickly among fans of Japanese cars and began to play regularly inside vehicles on the streets of Far Eastern cities. As a result, “Старина Марк” became more than a themed track: it turned into a musical tribute to an entire regional car culture.

Musical style and creative principles

Bo4a continues the traditions of Far Eastern rap, in which lyrics, meaning and delivery remain the primary expressive tools. He values original performance, depth of thought and honesty, while rejecting artificiality and attempts to adapt to short-lived musical trends.

When asked about the main source of his creative influence, the artist replies: “My inner demon.” This phrase reflects his approach to music as a way to release accumulated thoughts, inner contradictions and observations of the surrounding world.

Bo4a sees the main purpose of his work as exposing problems that society is accustomed to keeping silent about, encouraging listeners to think and helping them notice what lies beyond their own personal space. Loyalty to one’s principles, responsibility for personal actions and the ability to keep one’s word occupy an important place in his songs.

The musician collaborates with beatmakers from different cities and countries. Among the producers he has worked with are STROKE BEATS, KACHEV PROD, MACQUEEN BEATS, SKAT PROD, GLAAKI, KNOX PESTIS and MONA BEATS.

Performers who have recorded collaborative compositions with Bo4a include Млечный Сок, TEMMI DOGG, ОмутТ ТамМ, Cemp Red, KAHAT and 6IX PILL$ TRIPPIN, as well as other musicians who share a similar creative outlook.

The music video “Плохие приметы” occupies a special place in his visual work. The video is created in the aesthetics of a horror film and combines a dark atmosphere with the energy characteristic of hardcore rap. Beneath its provocative exterior lies a social and philosophical subtext that allows the video to be perceived as an independent artistic statement.

Current period

Bo4a continues to work on solo compositions and collaborative projects. One of his main upcoming releases is a new track with representative of the Rostov hip-hop school ОмутТ ТамМ, titled “Снаружи.”

He is also preparing the solo single “Нет причин,” recorded over a beat by MONA BEATS. A live video has already been filmed for the composition.

In September 2026, the artist plans to take part in a rap festival in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. New singles and collaborations with like-minded performers are also being prepared.

Bo4a describes the main goal of his music as a desire to influence people’s consciousness positively, encouraging them to think, analyse current events and look beyond their everyday personal interests.

The artist defines his desired place in the history of Far Eastern rap very simply: he wants to remain authentic — a person who did not betray his beliefs, did not abandon his own voice and continued to speak about what others preferred to keep silent about.
