A Musical Journey Through Love, Mythology, Ukrainian Folklore, and Self-Discovery
On September 30, 2026, Ukrainian singer and songwriter Ana Danch releases her new EP “Магія” (“Magic”) — a musical story about love, mythology, Ukrainian folklore, and the search for oneself.
Ancient imagery and traditional symbolism are given new life through contemporary electronic music, while five tracks come together as a continuous and coherent narrative.
The Concept
The EP opens with “Квітка” (“Kvitka”), which immerses the listener in the atmosphere of Ivan Kupala traditions and Slavic beliefs.
“Мавка” (“Mavka”) continues the journey, taking the listener deeper into the world of Slavic mythology and its timeless imagery.
The title track, “Магія” (“Magic”), explores the mysterious connection between two people — a bond that cannot be fully explained in words.
“Ой, ти родися” draws on Ukrainian folk imagery while exploring themes of love, homeland, roots, and a sense of belonging to one’s country.
The final track, “Хто я?” (“Who Am I?”), changes the direction of the narrative. The EP moves from images of nature, mythology, and the surrounding world toward the individual — their path, doubts, and search for self-understanding.
Ukrainian Heritage in a Contemporary Sound
The “Магія” EP combines Ukrainian cultural imagery with contemporary electronic music. Folk and mythological motifs become part of a modern musical language through which Ana Danch explores themes of love, roots, belonging, human emotions, and personal identity.
Rather than simply reproducing traditional material, the project places elements of Ukrainian cultural heritage into a contemporary musical context, allowing familiar symbols and themes to be experienced from a new perspective.
