Artik & Asti

MATTN (real name Anouk Matton; born December 18, 1992, in Belgium) is a Belgian DJ, music producer and singer working in electronic dance music. Her repertoire is built mainly around EDM, house and big room. MATTN releases music primarily through the Belgian label Smash The House and has performed at Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Sunburn, Mysteryland and Ushuaïa Ibiza. In 2019, she won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Belgian Act, and from 2018 to 2022 she appeared in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs five years in a row, reaching a career-high No. 42 in 2020.
MATTN’s best-known recordings include «Café Del Mar 2016» with Futuristic Polar Bears, «Children» with Klaas and Roland Clark, «Lone Wolves» with Paris Hilton, «Carnival» with Timmy Trumpet and Wolfpack, «Girlz Wanna Have Fun», «The Logical Song», «Funky Town», the newer version of «Cafe Del Mar» with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici, as well as «Still Got It Bad», «Who's That Girl» and «Somebody's Watching Me». MATTN has not released a full-length studio album: her discography is built mainly around singles, collaborations and DJ mixes.
Beginning of her career
Anouk Matton began working professionally as a DJ in the mid-2010s. The early years of her career coincided with the period when festival EDM and big room house were at the centre of the European electronic scene. MATTN’s first performances took place in clubs and at festivals, while her name gradually began appearing on the line-ups of major international events.
Smash The House, the label founded by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, played an important role in the development of the project. MATTN has said that the brothers first noticed her after one of her performances at Tomorrowland, where they liked her mashups and remixes. This eventually led to collaboration on her first releases. MATTN became the first female artist in the Smash The House catalogue.
«Café Del Mar 2016»
One of her first notable releases was «Café Del Mar 2016», released in 2016 and recorded with the British project Futuristic Polar Bears. The track is based on the theme of the classic «Café del Mar» by Energy 52.
Versions and edits by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Klaas were prepared for the release. The single came out on Smash The House and reached No. 22 on Belgium’s Ultratop chart.
«Café Del Mar 2016» defined the direction of early MATTN: large festival synths, a hard rhythmic foundation and material designed primarily for major stages.
Smash The House and the festival period
After «Café Del Mar 2016», MATTN continued releasing music through Smash The House and toured actively. Her early releases included «How We Roll» with 2 Faced Funks and «Let The Song Play» with Magic Wand.
In 2018, she released «Late» with HIDDN, «Throne» with Futuristic Polar Bears and Olly James, as well as the solo track «Jungle Fever». During that period, DJ Mag described MATTN as an artist focused on major EDM stages and highlighted her appearances at Tomorrowland and Creamfields.
MATTN also performed at Ibiza clubs and international festivals including Sunburn. In later years, her live history included regular appearances at Tomorrowland and Ushuaïa Ibiza. Her Tomorrowland 2022 Mainstage set was later officially released as a one-hour DJ mix.
DJ Mag Top 100 DJs
In 2018, MATTN entered the annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJs ranking for the first time at No. 72. A year later she climbed to No. 51, and in 2020 reached her best result — No. 42.
She ranked No. 67 in 2021 and No. 78 in 2022. MATTN therefore appeared in the main DJ Mag Top 100 for five consecutive years, from 2018 through 2022. In 2023, she placed No. 112 in the expanded Next 50 ranking, and in 2024 she was No. 130.
«Children»
In 2019, MATTN teamed up with German DJ Klaas and vocalist Roland Clark for «Children». The track is based on the melody of Robert Miles’ 1995 instrumental hit of the same name.
The new version retained the original’s recognisable piano theme but added a contemporary EDM arrangement and vocals. «Children» became one of the most popular recordings in MATTN’s catalogue and continues to rank among her leading tracks on streaming services.
«Lone Wolves» with Paris Hilton
In July 2019, MATTN released «Lone Wolves» with Paris Hilton. The single was released through Smash The House and Armada Music.
The collaboration was also presented at Tomorrowland, where MATTN and Paris Hilton performed the track for the Mainstage audience. DJ Mag specifically highlighted the collaboration in its 2019 MATTN profile.
«Lone Wolves» has no connection to Futuristic Polar Bears: MATTN worked with that project on «Café Del Mar 2016» and «Throne».
«Carnival»
Another major collaboration from 2019 was «Carnival», recorded by Timmy Trumpet, MATTN and Wolfpack featuring X-Tof. The Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Edit became particularly widespread.
Unlike MATTN’s more melodic recordings, «Carnival» is directly aimed at festival big room: brass elements, short vocal fragments and a hard drop make it typical material for large-scale EDM sets of the late 2010s.
MTV Europe Music Awards
In 2019, MATTN won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Belgian Act. The victory became one of the most notable official achievements of her career outside specialised DJ rankings.
«Girlz Wanna Have Fun» and «The Logical Song»
In 2020, MATTN released «Girlz Wanna Have Fun» with Stavros Martina and Kevin D. It uses the recognisable idea of «Girls Just Want to Have Fun» but reworks it as a contemporary electronic record. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike later produced their own remix.
That same year, MATTN and Klaas presented «The Logical Song», based on the Supertramp composition. Over time, «The Logical Song», «Girlz Wanna Have Fun» and «Children» became the three most-streamed tracks in her Spotify catalogue.
This period established a noticeable feature of MATTN’s later discography: alongside original material, she began regularly working with melodies and vocal ideas from well-known songs of previous decades, reimagining them for the contemporary dance scene.
Change in sound
Initially, MATTN’s music was closely associated with big room house and festival EDM. After 2020, her palette became broader. In an interview with DJ Mag, she said that during the break from touring she became more interested in chill house and deep house while also beginning to work more seriously on her vocals.
This did not lead to a complete departure from festival music. In later releases, MATTN combined house, pop-oriented dance, mainstage EDM, elements of progressive house and harder club arrangements.
«Sandstorm» and «Funky Town»
In 2021, MATTN continued her line of contemporary reworks of well-known dance themes. Together with Selva, she released «Sandstorm», referencing the classic by Darude, while with Maurice West she released «Funky Town», based on the Lipps Inc. hit.
«Funky Town» was released on Smash The House and became one of MATTN’s notable tracks from the period when the festival industry was returning after pandemic restrictions. DJ Mag mentioned the track among her key new releases in its 2021 profile.
New version of «Cafe Del Mar»
In 2022, MATTN returned to «Café del Mar», this time in a different configuration. The new «Cafe Del Mar» was recorded with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici and released on April 1, 2022, through Smash The House.
The 2022 version differs from the 2016 MATTN and Futuristic Polar Bears release and represents a separate modern interpretation of the classic Energy 52 theme.
Releases of 2022–2024
During this period, MATTN continued to work actively with other producers. In 2022, she released «Somebody to Love», «Summerbody», «Closer To You» and «Jenny From The Block». DJ Mag noted that alongside the new releases she returned to intensive touring and performances at Ushuaïa Ibiza.
In 2023, she released «Bitch Is Fire» with Romanian singer Alexandra Stan, as well as «Still Got It Bad» with Martin Jensen.
In 2024, she released a new version of «Girlz Wanna Have Fun 2024» with Mairee and «Who's That Girl» with CALVO and Crystal Rock.
Music in 2025–2026
In 2025, MATTN’s catalogue expanded with a series of new singles including «Somebody's Watching Me» with UUFO, «Lovesick», «Dreaming», «It Must Have Been Love» and «I Feel The Air». «Somebody's Watching Me» was released on July 11, 2025, through Smash The House, and received a separate VIP version in early 2026.
In 2026, MATTN released «Late Night» with UUFO and Shogun, «With Every Heartbeat», the festival track «Temple Of EOS (AURA Festival Anthem)» and «Everytime». The latter was released on July 24, 2026.

Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland occupies an important place in MATTN’s live career. She has performed at the festival many times, including on its Mainstage. DJ Mag had already listed Tomorrowland Mainstage among the key milestones of her career in its 2018 profile.
In 2022, her Mainstage Weekend 1 set was officially released on Apple Music as a standalone DJ Mix. A similar official release, Tomorrowland Winter 2025: MATTN at Mainstage, followed her appearance at the winter edition of the festival.
In 2024, Tomorrowland published a separate interview with MATTN in which she described her approach to DJ sets as a combination of house, EDM, contemporary pop reworks and material selected specifically for each audience.
Full Moon Radio
MATTN hosts the weekly radio show Full Moon Radio. Episodes feature house, mainstage EDM, progressive house, melodic house, melodic techno and new festival releases. By spring 2026, the project’s official SoundCloud archive had surpassed one hundred episodes.
MATTN includes both her own tracks and new edits as well as music from other artists on the electronic scene. Full Moon Radio episodes are also available on Minatrix.FM.
Vocals
MATTN works not only as a DJ and producer. On some tracks she also uses her own vocals. In 2020, she told DJ Mag that she had begun taking regular lessons with a vocal coach and was preparing material in which she planned to appear more actively as a singer.
Under her own name, Anouk Matton, she has also released separate vocal tracks. In 2023, she released «Neem Ik Je Mee» and «Vergeet Mij Niet».
Television and personal projects
Outside electronic music, Anouk Matton has worked in Belgian television projects. In 2021, VTM 2 released the reality series «Anouk Matton Privé», focusing on her work, family life and the period before the birth of her child.
Matton is also involved in business. She founded the cosmetics brand A.M. Cosmetics, developing it alongside her music career.
Personal life
Anouk Matton is married to Dimitri Vegas — Dimitri Thivaios, a member of the duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. The couple married on September 7, 2017, in Ibiza. The ceremony took place near Es Cavallet beach.
On July 9, 2021, Anouk and Dimitri welcomed their son, London Takis Thivaios. He is the couple’s first child. His middle name, Takis, was given in memory of the father of Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
MATTN and Smash The House
MATTN’s connection with Smash The House has continued through most of her discography. Both her early festival-oriented work and her releases of the 2020s have appeared on the label. Smash The House released «Café Del Mar 2016», «Jungle Fever», «Lone Wolves», «Funky Town», the 2022 «Cafe Del Mar», «Still Got It Bad» and a number of later singles.
At the same time, MATTN also works with other companies and artists. Some recordings were released through Spinnin' Records and other labels, while her list of collaborators includes Klaas, Roland Clark, Paris Hilton, Timmy Trumpet, Wolfpack, Vini Vici, Maurice West, Martin Jensen, Alexandra Stan, CALVO, Crystal Rock, UUFO and Shogun.
MATTN’s musical style
MATTN’s early discography was dominated by festival EDM: big room, electro house, large-scale synthesizer parts and drops designed for major stages. This material defined her DJ sets during the second half of the 2010s.
Later, her music became more diverse. Her catalogue expanded to include house, pop-dance, more melodic material and contemporary versions of well-known songs from previous decades. «Children», «The Logical Song», «Funky Town», «Sandstorm» and «Somebody's Watching Me» demonstrate one characteristic side of her repertoire — using a highly recognisable musical theme in a new club arrangement.
In her DJ sets, MATTN also avoids restricting herself to a single narrow genre. In an interview with Tomorrowland, she explained that she chooses music primarily according to the atmosphere of the performance, combining house with EDM, pop edits and harder festival tracks.
MATTN’s music career has developed mainly around singles, collaborations and festival performances. Beginning with «Café Del Mar 2016», she has consistently worked within the Belgian EDM scene and with Smash The House, spent five years in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs, won an MTV EMA as Best Belgian Act and continued releasing new music throughout the 2020s. Alongside concerts and studio releases, she also develops the weekly Full Moon Radio, where she presents her own view of contemporary dance music.
