Slava Marlow
LSP is a Belarusian music project led by rapper, singer and songwriter Oleg Vadimovich Savchenko (born July 10, 1989). The project emerged in the second half of the 2000s as Savchenko’s solo alias, but between 2012 and 2017 it effectively became a duo consisting of Oleg and producer Roman Sashcheko, better known as Roma Anglichanin. After Roman’s death in July 2017, Savchenko retained the name LSP and continued working with a live band and guest producers.
LSP’s music has changed several times along with the project itself. The early recordings combined hip-hop, electropop, dubstep and indie music; the Magic City period was associated with trap and American club aesthetics, while Tragic City pushed the project far beyond the usual boundaries of Russian-language rap. Later, the songs incorporated more live instrumentation, pop music, rock, chanson and singer-songwriter elements. Despite all these changes, the foundation of LSP remains Savchenko’s melodies and lyrics — cynical, romantic and often grotesque, with recurring themes of love, loneliness, addiction, money, death and self-destruction.
Oleg Savchenko and the early years
Oleg Savchenko grew up in Vitebsk in a family of journalists. As a child, he studied piano, although he did not receive systematic musical training at the time. Later, he began writing poetry and became interested in hip-hop.
In 2007, Savchenko entered university and moved from Vitebsk to Minsk. The musician himself associated this period with the early stage of his development: he participated in the local rap scene, recorded his first songs and searched for his own way of combining rap with melodic pop music. By education, Savchenko is a linguist and teacher, a graduate of the philological program at Minsk State Linguistic University.
The name LSP has no single official meaning. Over the years, Savchenko and people around him have suggested dozens of humorous interpretations — from «Лучик сильнее пули» to «Лучше спросите попозже». In early interviews, the musicians deliberately changed the meaning of the initials, so presenting any one version as the true origin of the name would be inaccurate.
«Видеть цветные сны»
LSP’s first notable original release was the EP «Видеть цветные сны», released on September 16, 2011.
It included «Маг», «Улицы», «Хиппи», «Ламбада», «Мир стал пустым без тебя» and a remix of «Хиппи». The music was created by Aes Genius, 614, Paul Pain and Savchenko himself.
Even here, traits that would remain with LSP for years were already apparent. Savchenko did not try to sound like a conventional rapper: he sang, made extensive use of vocal processing and combined rap delivery with pop melodies and electronic music.
In an interview marking the tenth anniversary of the release, he recalled gradually arriving at the idea that rap did not necessarily have to be built around continuous rapping. For the Russian-language hip-hop scene of the early 2010s, this approach was still far from standard.
Roma Anglichanin
A key figure in LSP’s history is Roman Nikolayevich Sashcheko, better known as Roma Anglichanin.
Roman was a musician, sound engineer and producer from Mogilev. Before beginning close collaboration with Savchenko, he played in the electropunk band GreenChe and participated in other projects.
Remarkably, even during the making of «Видеть цветные сны», Roman supervised the mixing of the material despite not yet knowing Oleg personally. Their full-fledged collaboration began in 2012 with the song «Номера».
Gradually, the line between Oleg’s solo project and the work of the duo disappeared. Savchenko was primarily responsible for lyrics, melodies and vocals, while Anglichanin shaped the sound and handled production and post-production.
Oleg later said that virtually the entire numbered discography of that period was created with Roma’s involvement — from supervising the mix of the first EP to fully producing individual later works.
«ЁП» and «Виселицца»
2014 became LSP’s first major breakthrough year.
On January 8, the album «ЁП» was released, collecting songs recorded over the previous years. It included «Канат», «Коктейль», «Больше денег», «Сити», «Потерян и не найден», «Пикачу», «Живая петля», «Зачем мне этот мир» and «Лилвэйн».
On May 24, «Виселицца» followed.
These two 2014 records made LSP one of the most discussed projects on the emerging Russian-language rap scene. The music already fit poorly within conventional hip-hop boundaries: electropunk, synth-pop, heavy electronic production, club rhythms and deliberately distorted vocals all existed side by side.
In its first major interview with LSP in 2014, The Flow was already referring to Oleg and Roma as a group — a description both musicians agreed with.
Booking Machine and Oxxxymiron
In the summer of 2014, LSP began working with the concert agency Booking Machine. Oxxxymiron, who publicly supported the Belarusian project, played a significant role in this development.
At the end of the year, LSP and Oxxxymiron released the collaborative song «Мне скучно жить».
The partnership was important for expanding LSP’s audience: the project began performing regularly in Russia, followed by larger concerts and tours. The relationship with Booking Machine did not last long, however, and Savchenko later had a public conflict with Oxxxymiron.
The most important musical result of their interaction nevertheless came in another track.
Magic City and «Безумие»
On July 20, 2015, LSP released Magic City.
The album’s concept revolved around a fictional city of entertainment, sex, money and endless celebration, behind which a growing sense of emptiness gradually emerged. The influence of trap and mid-2010s American hip-hop is especially noticeable here.
The album included «Magic City», «Шест», «Bullet» featuring Pharaoh, «Фокус», «Уровни», «OK», «Bankroll», «Безумие», «Пусть говорят» and other tracks.
The biggest hit was the remix version of «Безумие» featuring Oxxxymiron.
The song originally developed from material by another artist, Breezey Montana. Oleg was asked to write the chorus, then added his own verse, while the version featuring Oxxxymiron ultimately became the best known. At the end of 2015, The Flow placed it at number one on its list of the year’s best Russian-language tracks.
Magic City was also important because it demonstrated LSP’s ability to operate simultaneously within rap and pop music. Savchenko increasingly sang rather than rapped, while Anglichanin treated the trap foundation less as a fixed genre formula and more as raw material for his own electronic sound.
«Кондитерская» with Pharaoh
In 2016, LSP collaborated closely with Pharaoh.
On October 1, the artists released the six-track collaborative EP «Кондитерская»: «Порнозвезда», «Кекс», «Золотые рыбки», «9 жизней», «PiT» and «Неон».
The production team was diverse: Crazie Mugg, BRYTE, ColdSiemens, stereoRYZE, White Punk, SOUTHGARDEN and LOSTSVUND worked on the music, while «Золотые рыбки» was produced by Roma Anglichanin and Breezey Muzik.
After the release, LSP and Pharaoh embarked on a joint tour.
«Порнозвезда» and «Золотые рыбки» became two of the most recognizable songs of this period and significantly expanded the audiences of both artists.
Tragic City
On April 28, 2017, Tragic City was released — the central album of the Oleg Savchenko and Roma Anglichanin period.
The title directly continued Magic City, but the city itself was now portrayed differently. If the previous record showed the bright side of nightlife and hedonism, this one revealed what followed: loneliness, collapsing relationships, addiction, physical deterioration and death.
The album includes «Ползать», «Монетка», «Деньги не проблема», «Тело», «Воскресение», «Лабиринт отражений», «Белый танец», «Отброс», «Канкан», «Ещё один день», «Конец света» and «Плевок в вечность».
«Монетка» became especially well known. For the first time on an LSP track, Roma Anglichanin appeared not only as a producer but also as a rapper, performing his own verse. It remained his only such appearance in the duo’s main discography.
Tragic City demonstrated just how far LSP had moved beyond being a genre-bound rap project. The arrangements incorporated guitars, saxophone, synth-pop and elaborate dramatic structures. The Flow later included the album among the twenty most important Russian-language rap albums released between 2000 and 2020.
The death of Roma Anglichanin
Roma Anglichanin died on July 30, 2017.
He was 29 years old. For LSP, his death came only three months after the release of Tragic City.
After Roman’s death, the natural question arose of whether the project would continue to exist.
On August 5, Oleg Savchenko announced that he did not intend to stop. The Tragic City tour was preserved. Oleg wrote that Roma had become part of LSP and that ending the project would have contradicted Anglichanin’s own attitude toward their shared work.
The first performance without Roma took place in August 2017. Savchenko built the set largely around songs his late friend had particularly loved.
LSP becomes a live band
In the autumn of 2017, the project’s concert format changed.
Savchenko was joined by Den Hawk, his longtime acquaintance from Piggy Bang, and keyboardist Pyotr Klyuyev. The live lineup later expanded, while live instruments began playing an increasingly important role in the arrangements.
The transition was substantial. Under Roma Anglichanin, LSP had primarily existed as a studio duo of songwriter and producer. Now, on stage, it had become a full-fledged band.
One of the first major recordings of the new phase was «Маленький принц», released in December 2017. The musical foundation of the track was written by Pyotr Klyuyev.
Gradually, Oleg himself became more deeply involved in music production, while a circle of musicians and sound producers formed around LSP, allowing the project to continue developing without attempting to find a direct «replacement» for Roma.
«Свиное рыло»
After Tragic City, listeners had to wait three years for the next album.
On September 11, 2020, LSP released «Свиное рыло», one of the project’s most unexpected works.
It was not a continuation of Tragic City, but a conceptual rap musical structured as a dark reworking of the Three Little Pigs fairy tale. The title and tracklist had originally appeared online as a fan joke. Savchenko decided to turn the fictional album into a real one.
Pyotr Klyuyev, Denis Astapov of the group «Грязь» and Valera Boomer took part in the recording.
Musically, the album brought together hip-hop, theatrical song, chanson and grotesque elements. Audience reaction was mixed: many listeners had spent three years expecting a direct continuation of Tragic City.
That continuation arrived exactly one week later.
One More City
On September 18, 2020, LSP released One More City — its second album in seven days.
It completed the loosely defined city trilogy begun with Magic City and continued by Tragic City. The album contains 15 tracks, including «Золотой мальчик», «Поп-звезда», «Мамонтёнок», «Девочка-пришелец», «Золушка», «Бинокль», «Амнезия» featuring Pharaoh, «Дюны», «10 негритят» and «Вспоминай».
It was specifically «Вспоминай» that served as a tribute to Roma Anglichanin. Calling the entire One More City album a memorial record would therefore be inaccurate: this theme is only one part of a much broader concept.
The sound had also changed. Live instruments and pop melodies occupied far more space than on the trap-oriented Magic City. At the time, The Flow described One More City as Savchenko’s least «rap-like» album yet.
The album topped the Russian Apple Music chart, while «Свиное рыло» was simultaneously in the top ten.
«Несчастные люди»
The next full-length release arrived on October 6, 2023.
The album «Несчастные люди» consists of 11 songs. Instead of a single fantasy narrative, it presents a gallery of characters, each of whom is unsuccessful in his own way — in love, money, relationships with the outside world or life itself. The songs include «Карантин», «Стоп игра», «Монополия», «Боди», «Сикрет Плейс», «Не убежал», «Сектор Приз» and «Золотой ключик».
By this point, assigning LSP to any single genre had become even more conditional.
The earlier electronic rap sound had given way to pop, rock, live rhythm sections, keyboards and music designed for full-scale concert performance. Savchenko himself also began playing saxophone on stage.
The Flow included «Несчастные люди» among the ten best Russian-language albums of 2023.
«Судный день»
Throughout 2024, LSP actively released standalone songs. These included «Оверсайз», the GONE.Fludd collaboration «Ути-Пути», «Джекпот», «Бриллианты» and other recordings.
At the end of that year, Oleg said he saw little point in making another album: in the modern system of music distribution, singles receive more attention, while the format of a large release seemed exhausted to him.
That made the decision taken one year later even more notable.
On November 28, 2025, LSP released its eighth studio album, «Судный день». The only guest performer on the record was GONE.Fludd on the song «Кино».
On this album, Savchenko moved closer to pop music than ever before. Rap did not disappear entirely, but it ceased to be the main framework. Singing, melody and fully developed song structures moved to the foreground.
At the same time, LSP’s characteristic darker side remained intact. Behind outwardly light and immediately memorable songs were once again stories of broken relationships, fear of aging, loneliness and people unable to obtain what they want.
At the end of the year, The Flow ranked «Судный день» 15th among the best Russian-language albums of 2025.
LSP in 2026
After «Судный день», the project did not go on hiatus. New releases appeared in LSP’s digital catalog in 2026, including «Лето» and «искра». At the same time, the concert program still consists largely of songs from different periods — from «ЁП» and «Виселицца» to Tragic City, One More City and the later albums.
Modern LSP differs noticeably from the project of the early 2010s. Savchenko has retained rap as one of his tools, but has long since stopped depending on it: trap, electronic pop, rock, chanson, almost theatrical numbers and melodic pop music coexist within the same discography.
Lyrics and musical style
In LSP’s early music, the electronic environment was especially important. Auto-Tune was used not merely to correct the voice, but as an independent artistic effect. Dubstep, electropunk and synth-pop could coexist with rap rhythms within a single track.
With Roma Anglichanin, the sound became much more detailed. On «Виселицца», the electronic production is deliberately harsh and overloaded; on Magic City, it is more spacious and trap-oriented; on Tragic City, the electronic foundation already exists alongside guitars, saxophone, piano and almost cinematic arrangements.
After 2017, the role of live instruments became even more prominent.
More consistent than any genre is the recurring protagonist of LSP’s songs. He loves money while despising it, searches for love while destroying relationships, dreams of a beautiful life and discovers emptiness behind it. Hedonism almost always turns out to be the reverse side of loneliness.
Because of this, some of LSP’s most cheerful-sounding songs are often among the darkest in content.
Savchenko actively uses literary references, wordplay and unreliable narration: the protagonist of a song and the real author are far from always being the same person. Crude colloquial language may appear alongside literary quotations, and absurd jokes can coexist with tragic narratives.
This contrast became one of the reasons LSP was able to reach far beyond the traditional audience of Russian-language rap.

LSP evolved from an experimental project of the Minsk internet scene into one of the most recognizable Russian-language music acts of its generation. The period of Oleg Savchenko and Roma Anglichanin established the project’s classic sound, but after 2017 LSP did not become an attempt to reproduce the old formula. The discography continued to change — sometimes sharply, as on «Свиное рыло», and sometimes gradually, as on «Несчастные люди» and «Судный день». That constant capacity for transformation ultimately became one of the project’s defining characteristics.
