Umar Keyn
Yulia Pago is a Russian radio host, singer, DJ, MC and songwriter whose professional career is closely connected with Russian dance radio culture and the club scene of the 2000s and 2010s. She worked on Radio Record, DFM and Hit FM, while as a vocalist she is best known for her collaborations with DJ Feel — Круги на воде, На облака, Осколки лета and Виртуаль. Her own repertoire also includes Улетай, Маленький рай, LoveЛето, Buona Sera, Где ты and other dance-oriented recordings.
Pago's career is best viewed through three interconnected areas — radio, club performances and vocal electronic music. Krāslava, Saint Petersburg and the beginning of her radio career
Yulia Pago was born in the Latvian town of Krāslava and celebrates her birthday on April 18. Biographical profiles also connect her career with Murmansk, Saint Petersburg and later Moscow. She does not emphasize her year of birth in her main official public profiles, so for a reference biography it is more accurate not to state an unconfirmed date.
Saint Petersburg played a particularly important role in her professional development. Pago herself identifies strongly with the city: in a 2015 interview she directly said, “I’m from St. Petersburg.” At the time, the city was one of the most important centers of the Russian club scene, while Radio Record was one of the main platforms for distributing electronic music and shaping local dance culture.
Radio became Yulia's profession very early. In a 2015 interview on Hit FM, she said that she had already been working on air for more than fifteen years. Documentary sources also confirm her presence on Saint Petersburg's Radio Record at least by the mid-2000s.
This is important for understanding her entire later music career. Pago grew up inside the radio and club infrastructure, so working with DJs was not a late attempt to move into electronic music: vocals, microphone work, live broadcasting and the dance scene developed simultaneously from the beginning.
Radio Record and the formation of her stage identity
At Radio Record, Pago became known as a host and as a participant in Saint Petersburg's dance scene. Booking materials from her club period describe her as a DJ and MC and connect her with events such as Dance Planet, «ЦЕХ», «Вспышка», Sensation and various Radio Record events.
Her live format differed from a conventional vocalist performing over a pre-prepared backing track. An archived announcement for a joint DJ Feel and Yulia Pago show in 2008 described the program as a combination of a DJ set, live performances of original songs and vocal improvisation. This format — DJ plus MC and live vocals — became one of the most characteristic aspects of her club work.
For that reason, defining Pago exclusively as a trance singer would be too narrow. At different times, her work intersected with house, progressive house, trance, dance-pop and the wider Russian club scene. Her professional Global Dance profile also identifies her as a DJ / Singer / MC, while progressive house is listed among the styles associated with her own DJ material.
DJ Feel and Круги на воде
The most important musical partner of her early period was DJ Feel. Their joint catalogue is particularly well documented in the radio-industry database TopHit. One of their first key recordings was Круги на воде, dated November 4, 2007. The release came out through Record Music and existed in several versions and remixes.
The track established a formula that would return in several of their collaborations: emotional Russian-language female vocals over a melodic dance arrangement. The material was designed to work both on radio and in club sets, which suited Pago's dual profession as a radio host and club performer.
Later, Круги на воде received additional club treatments, including a version by Alexander Popov. The fact that several versions of the track remained in circulation for years shows that the Feel and Pago project existed beyond the format of a simple radio edit.
На облака
The next major collaboration was На облака. TopHit dates the radio edit to March 23, 2008 and also lists Record Music. In an archived description of the release, DJ Feel and Yulia Pago were already presented as an established Saint Petersburg duo with melodic European-style dance production and Russian-language lyrics.
Tracks like these made Pago's voice recognizable well beyond her own radio shows. However, it is important not to turn historical promotional material into statistical fact: claims found in older biographies about “100 radio stations and 250 cities” come primarily from promotional descriptions of the project. The national radio history of the songs is supported, but precise advertising figures are better avoided as universal statistics.
Осколки лета
Осколки лета was released in 2008 and became another important collaboration between DJ Feel and Yulia Pago. TopHit dates the release to June 22, 2008 and credits Yulia Pago and Filipp Belikov as the songwriters.
The track became one of the most enduring recordings in Pago's catalogue. It continued to appear on dance compilations and in 2015 was included on the official collection «20 лет Радио Рекорд». Apple Music lists DJ Feel and Yulia Pago as the performers and Pago as one of the songwriters.
Especially notable is the new life the track received more than fifteen years after its original release. In 2024, an official MANAMEINO Remix was released. In 2025, a new trance version, the Anton Pallmer Remix, appeared and was subsequently featured in radio shows and compilations associated with Suanda Music, Russia Goes Clubbing and Trancemission. In April 2026, the NoMosk Remix followed.
In this way, Осколки лета effectively connected two different eras of the Russian electronic scene: the original club-radio formula of the late 2000s and the modern international trance infrastructure of remixes and specialist radio shows.
Признаки with DJ Riga
Pago worked not only with DJ Feel. In October 2008, the single Признаки with DJ Riga was released. TopHit credits both performers as songwriters and dates the release to October 13, 2008.
This track shows that even at that stage, her music career was not based on a permanent duo with a single producer, but on a broader model of collaboration within the Russian club scene.
Виртуаль
Another major collaboration with DJ Feel was Виртуаль, released on March 30, 2009. TopHit credits DJ Feel and Yulia Pago as both performers and songwriters.
Compared with the more summery and open mood of На облака and Осколки лета, this track highlights Pago's more melancholic vocal side. The song centers on distance and virtual relationships, which also matched the aesthetic of Russian-language club pop at the end of the 2000s.
Solo material: Улетай, Маленький рай and other songs
Over time, Pago increasingly released recordings under her own name. Her catalogue came to include Улетай, Маленький рай, LoveЛето, Buona Sera, Где ты, Вечер. Пятница, Shangri-La, Столица-Матрица and other tracks. The existence of these songs is confirmed by music catalogues and professional artist profiles.
Улетай became one of the more notable solo recordings of this period and appears in the TopHit catalogue alongside her collaborations with DJ Feel and DJ Riga. Маленький рай was also officially listed by TopHit as a solo release, with Yulia Pago credited as the author and rights holder.
This period also revealed the songwriting side of her work. In modern music credits, Pago continues to appear not only as a performer but also as a lyricist and composer — for example, in the metadata for new editions of her earlier songs.
DJ, vocalist and MC
Pago's club career cannot be described simply as performing her own songs. She also worked as an independent DJ and as an MC — directly interacting with the audience over a DJ set.
Vocal improvisation became one of the distinctive features of her performances. Concert descriptions of the project with DJ Feel emphasized that some vocal lines could be created directly during the set. This brought her work closer to the tradition of a house MC and live club vocalist than to a conventional pop concert.
From Radio Record to Moscow radio
Alongside live performances, radio remained a constant part of her profession. By 2015, Pago herself estimated that she already had more than fifteen years of on-air experience. Before moving to Hit FM, she had also worked at DFM: in a 2015 interview, she was directly asked about her earlier departure from the station.
Her radio career therefore did not develop in a simple linear sequence of “Record — Hit FM — DFM,” but included moves between Saint Petersburg and Moscow broadcasting and several periods of work at different stations.
«Части тела» on Hit FM
On February 24, 2015, Yulia Pago launched her own morning show «Части тела» on Moscow's Hit FM. The program aired on weekdays from 8:00 to 11:00 and was built around talk-radio segments, humor, provocative topics and active interaction with listeners.
For Pago, this stage represented a noticeable departure from the usual role of a music radio DJ. In an interview that same year, she stressed that she had no interest in returning to standard linear broadcasting and agreed specifically because she was given the opportunity to create her own show. Among the main requirements of a good radio program, she named preparation, humor and original content.
Her period at Hit FM ended in 2016, after which Pago returned to DFM.
VITAMIN D on DFM
At DFM, Yulia Pago became the host and producer of the morning show VITAMIN D. By autumn 2016, the station's press materials already listed her as the show's presenter. In the following years, musicians, actors, athletes and other public figures appeared as guests in the studio.
According to the surviving program archive, Pago's guests at different times included Filatov & Karas, MARUV, Anna Pletnyova, Lyosha Svik, Jukebox Trio and many other representatives of the pop and electronic scenes. For Yulia herself, this period firmly established her not merely as a music radio DJ but as a full-fledged author and host of talk radio.
Yulia Pago's Evening Show
Her radio career continues decades after her first broadcasts. The official DFM website presents Pago as a “radio legend, singer and host of her own show”. Her current Yulia Pago Evening Show airs on weekdays from 18:00 to 20:00.
The format includes discussion topics, games, listener interaction and interviews. Radio therefore remained not a secondary activity after her music career, but one of her two main professional directions alongside club music.
Historic festivals and touring
Professional profiles connect Pago with a number of major events on the Russian dance scene, including Sensation, Tiësto Club Life, Dance Planet, «ЦЕХ», «Вспышка» and various Radio Record events.
Touring activity developed especially actively during the period of her joint project with DJ Feel. Surviving posters confirm their performances in different Russian cities as early as 2008.
At the same time, promotional labels such as “the main face of Russian trance,” “Russia's most decorated Lady MC” or “thousands of stadium performances” are not necessary for an encyclopedic biography. Pago's real history is substantial enough on its own: Radio Record, a national club touring network, original radio shows and several genuinely documented dance releases provide a much more accurate picture of her place in the scene.
«Русский ТОП 2012»
In 2012, Yulia Pago was included in the voting for the NEWSmuz music award «Русский ТОП» in the category for the year's best female performers. In the final ranking, she received 2,376 votes and placed seventh, between Irina Dubtsova and Sati Kazanova.
This episode can therefore be considered a notable result in a reader poll, but not a victory or a music award actually received.
The return of Осколки лета to the trance scene
A particularly interesting new stage in the catalogue began many years after the original DJ Feel & Yulia Pago period. In March 2024, an official MANAMEINO Remix of Осколки лета appeared.
In 2025, the Anton Pallmer Remix was released. The new version entered specialist trance programs, including Suanda Music, Trancemission, Russia Goes Clubbing and 2Rock Sessions. Apple Music lists the release as a separate single and documents its presence in these radio shows.
In April 2026, the NoMosk Remix followed in two versions. As a result, the original 2008 song received several generations of modern trance reinterpretations.
A similar process also affected На облака: in 2025, new remix editions appeared on Plastinka, including versions by Alex Cosmo and Inertia.
Musical style
In Yulia Pago's case, it is more accurate to speak not of one genre but of the Russian dance scene, with noticeable influences from house, progressive house and trance. Her best-known early recordings were created during a period when melodic electronic music actively overlapped with Russian-language pop radio formats.
Pago's main musical instrument remains her voice. In the club format, it serves several functions at once: full song performances, short improvisations, MC phrases and direct interaction with the audience. That is why her stage work developed naturally between the microphone of a radio host and that of a club vocalist.

The length of her radio career is equally important. By 2015, Pago was already speaking of more than fifteen years of experience, and more than a decade later she continues to host a daily original show on DFM.
For that reason, the most accurate description of Yulia Pago is neither “the star of one trance hit” nor the exaggerated “face of the entire Russian electronic scene.” She is one of the notable representatives of Russian club and radio culture of the 2000s and 2010s, who managed to combine the roles of radio host, DJ, MC, songwriter and vocalist while maintaining a professional connection with dance music many years after her first collaborative recordings.
