Burak Yeter is a Turkish DJ, music producer, remixer and multi-instrumentalist. He was born on 5 May 1982 in Trabzon, Turkey. Active in electronic music since the mid-2000s, he achieved major international success with the single Tuesday featuring vocals by Danelle Sandoval. At different stages of his career, his music has encompassed house, deep house, progressive house, dance-pop, big room, tech house and techno. Beyond studio production, Yeter is known for performances featuring live guitar and symphony orchestras, his own label Connection Records and large-scale technology-driven shows.
Childhood and early musical training
Burak Yeter began studying music at an early age. At the age of five, he started learning classical piano, and at around eight he took up the guitar. These instruments later remained an important part of his professional work, especially the guitar, which Yeter uses directly during some of his DJ performances.
He lived in Trabzon until the age of 13. Because of his father’s work, the family later moved successively to Samsun, Kayseri, Ankara and Antalya. Yeter would later associate his ability to adapt easily to constant touring with the frequent relocations of his childhood.
By his teenage years, his interests had already expanded beyond instrumental training. He became involved in electronic music and, in 1999, formed the band Tatbikat. The project became one of his first opportunities to work systematically on original musical material and production.
Education and sound engineering
Yeter did not initially receive his education as a professional musician. He studied Civil Engineering at Akdeniz University. Afterward, his professional interests shifted decisively toward music.
Burak later moved to London, where he studied sound engineering at SAE Institute and worked in British studios. Biographies of Yeter often describe this as a «master’s degree in sound engineering», but the artist’s official website is more cautious and refers specifically to a Sound Engineering course at SAE. For an encyclopedic biography, this wording is more accurate.
The combination of engineering education, practical studio experience, instrumental skills and DJing later became a characteristic feature of his career.
MTV & Burn DJ Contest
His first major professional recognition came in 2004.
Burak Yeter won the Turkish stage of the MTV & Burn DJ Contest, which involved Masters At Work, and subsequently received the opportunity to perform at an MTV event in Malta. That same year, he finished second in the Miller Master DJ Contest.
These results marked an important transition from local studio activity to professional DJing and significantly expanded the range of his performances.
For Action
In 2005, Burak Yeter released his debut album, For Action. Apple Music lists the release in its official catalogue specifically as a 2005 album.
Later promotional biographies have sometimes described For Action as the «world’s first solo DJ album». This claim is historically inaccurate and insufficiently supported, so it is more appropriate to regard the record simply as Yeter’s first full-length album.
Even his early discography demonstrates that his musical career began more than a decade before the appearance of Tuesday.
For Message Volume 2
On 11 April 2007, his second album, For Message Volume 2, was released — a 16-track project running for more than an hour, issued by Dokuz Sekiz Müzik.
Compared with his later festival-oriented and radio-focused material, the album is noticeably calmer and contains more chillout and downtempo elements.
The differences between For Action, For Message Volume 2 and his later international singles show that Yeter did not originally build his career around a single house subgenre.
Pioneer and his own educational system
In 2008, Burak Yeter began collaborating with Pioneer, became a certified instructor and started participating in professional DJ education. The educational direction later developed into a network of DJ schools associated with him.
At the same time, he developed his own studio infrastructure and founded Connection Records. The project became not only a label, but also a base for studio work and educational activities. In later years, Connection studios and projects were associated with Amsterdam, Istanbul and Los Angeles.
Amsterdam gradually became the musician’s main international working base.
Work with the Turkish pop scene
Before his global dance breakthrough, Yeter worked extensively within the Turkish music industry as an arranger and remixer.
His collaboration with Ajda Pekkan was particularly notable. In 2010, his reworking of her song Oyalama Beni earned Yeter the Best Remix award at the Kral TV Music Awards. Two years later, he received another award for his remix of Arada Sırada.
His work with pop music established another lasting element of his production approach — a focus on vocal hooks and melody, which would later become especially prominent in Tuesday and My Life Is Going On.
Blue and international ambitions
In 2012, Yeter released the album Blue. Apple Music confirms it as his third major album release after For Action and For Message Volume 2.
The same period also produced Mr. International with American rapper Hot Rod, who was associated with G-Unit. In 2013, Yeter released Storm and permanently shifted a significant part of his musical work to Amsterdam.
Interestingly, in a 2013 interview, the musician openly spoke about his intention to move beyond the Turkish market and enter international charts. Within a few years, that goal would be achieved far more successfully than could reasonably have been expected at the time.
New World and Spinnin' Records
Yeter marked a new international period with the New World project.
At the beginning of 2016, Reckless featuring Canadian singer Delaney Jane was released, followed in the summer by Happy on Spinnin' Records. The label described Happy as deep house with piano and guitar chords, organic melodies and tropical elements.
At this point, Yeter’s sound moved closer to the European melodic house/dance-pop scene of the mid-2010s.
However, the real turning point came with his next single.
Tuesday
In 2016, Burak Yeter released Tuesday featuring vocals by Danelle Sandoval.
Importantly, Tuesday is not a completely original composition by Yeter. Danelle Sandoval had previously recorded an acoustic version of the song Tuesday by American rapper ILOVEMAKONNEN, whose wider popularity had been driven by a remix featuring Drake. Burak Yeter created an electronic reworking of Sandoval’s version. Apple Music explicitly characterises his recording in this way; the credited songwriters include Makonnen Sheran, Aubrey Drake Graham, Leland Wayne and other writers of the original composition, while Yeter is credited as producer.
It was Yeter’s version that transformed the song into a major international dance hit.
International success of Tuesday
The most impressive confirmed results for Tuesday came in continental Europe.
In Germany, the single reached No. 2 on the official national chart and remained in the Top 100 for 36 weeks. In the 2017 year-end ranking, it placed fifth among all singles of the year in Germany — ahead of many of the world’s biggest dance and pop releases of that period.
In France, the national music organisation SNEP awarded Tuesday a Diamond certification in September 2017.
DJ Mag later noted that in 2017 Tuesday became the 10th most Shazamed track in the world.
These figures describe the scale of the song’s success more accurately than the widespread promotional claim that it was «No. 1 in more than 60 countries», which often mixes official national charts with local iTunes, Spotify and Shazam rankings.
My Life Is Going On
Yeter’s next major international success was connected with the series La Casa de Papel (Money Heist).
In 2018, Yeter released a remix of My Life Is Going On by Spanish singer Cecilia Krull, whose original recording was used as the series’ main theme.
Burak Yeter’s version transformed the song into a contemporary dance format while preserving Krull’s vocal melody.
In France, My Life Is Going On received a Gold certification from SNEP.
Together with Tuesday, the track formed the most internationally recognisable part of Yeter’s catalogue.
Friday Night and expansion of the dance sound
In 2019, Yeter released Friday Night, another notable radio-oriented track.
During this period, he did not remain confined to deep house. His music moved between mainstream dance, house, future house and more festival-oriented forms of electronic music.
In 2020, Body Talks and Just Miss Love appeared — the latter a collaboration with Italian producer Benny Benassi and vocalist Saint Wilder. That same year also saw the release of Teenage Runaway and Fly Away.
Symphonic concerts
Alongside his studio releases, Yeter began significantly expanding the format of his live performances.
In 2020, he staged performances with approximately 100 symphony orchestra musicians, combining an electronic DJ set with orchestral arrangements and live guitar. DJ Mag specifically highlighted these productions as one of the artist’s most distinctive features.
The concept later developed into the World Symphonic Tour and other symphonic programmes.
The orchestral direction did not remain a one-off experiment: Yeter continued returning to it in subsequent years, including performances in historic theatres and concert venues in Turkey.
Connection Radio
Another permanent part of the project became the Connection Radio Show.
Burak Yeter used the radio show not only as a traditional mix format, but also as a foundation for visual live broadcasts. During the period of restrictions on live events, episodes were recorded in different locations, with Yeter often adding live guitar to his DJing.
This gradually shaped his concert model, in which an electronic DJ set coexists with instrumental performance and large-scale visual production.
DJ Mag Top 100 DJs
In 2020, Burak Yeter entered the main DJ Mag Top 100 DJs ranking for the first time, reaching No. 89.
His positions subsequently changed as follows:

His best result was No. 64 in 2024.
DJ Mag itself has described his music in different years as B-house, tech house, EDM, various shades of house and, later, simply as a wide range of house. This confirms that Yeter’s stylistic range extends far beyond a single genre.
Space Concerts
In the early 2020s, Yeter began developing a separate concert concept centred on space aesthetics.
The Space Concerts project was built around a 360-degree visual environment, large video structures and specially designed stage production. In 2023, a major 360° stadium show took place in Turkey, featuring Kazakh singer Dimash Qudaibergen as a special guest.
Yeter also released Weekend with Dimash — a single issued on 25 August 2023 through Ultra Records.
Unlike Tuesday, which was primarily aimed at European radio dance audiences, Weekend highlighted Yeter’s interest in large-scale vocal compositions and international collaborations.
Work with Till Lindemann and Le Twins
Yeter’s stylistic range is also clearly visible in his later collaborative projects.
He recorded Übers Meer with Till Lindemann, vocalist of Rammstein, and in July 2024 collaborated with Mexican duo Le Twins on MOON, released through Dim Mak Records.
Apple Music classifies MOON directly as techno, demonstrating another noticeable departure from the melodic deep house period of Happy and Tuesday.
For this reason, Yeter’s stylistic history is better understood as continuous movement within electronic dance music rather than the career of an artist tied to a single genre.
One Day in Space
The most unusual project of Burak Yeter’s career became One Day in Space.
The idea emerged several years before it was realised. A specially sealed capsule was built for the project and was designed to be lifted by a stratospheric balloon to approximately 55,000 feet — around 16.7 kilometres. DJ equipment and a guitar were installed inside.
On 8 May 2025, the craft launched from the Barcelona area. Burak Yeter ascended into the stratosphere and performed music there, combining a DJ set with live guitar. DJ Mag reported that he thereby set a record for the highest-altitude musical performance and became the first musician to perform in the stratosphere.
The artist’s official website later reported that he received two Guinness World Records certificates — for Highest Altitude Live DJ Performance and Highest Altitude Guitar Performance.
The project became a logical development of Yeter’s long-standing interest in combining music with engineering and technological ideas — from 360-degree concerts to symphonic productions.
Musical style
Burak Yeter’s musical style has changed throughout his career.
His early discography included chillout and more experimental electronic music. During the Happy and Tuesday period, deep house, melodic house and mainstream dance became the core of his sound, while later releases expanded toward future house, big room, tech house and techno.
By the mid-2020s, DJ Mag described his direction as broadly as possible — house in many of its forms.
Despite all the stylistic changes, several recurring elements remain in Yeter’s production: a pronounced melodic focus, a clear vocal hook, dense electronic rhythm and attention to instrumental parts.
Piano and especially guitar are not confined to the studio. Yeter regularly uses guitar directly during his performances, distinguishing his concert format from a standard DJ set.
Connection Records
His own Connection Records occupies a special place in his career.
The label grew out of Yeter’s early studio activities and became a platform for music releases, studio production and educational projects. His work with young DJs and producers began through his collaboration with Pioneer and later developed into an independent direction.
Yeter therefore develops not only his personal artist project, but also his own music infrastructure centred on recording and professional education.

Burak Yeter in electronic music
Burak Yeter’s career began long before the international success of Tuesday. By the time the single was released, he already had instrumental musical training, his own band, a DJ competition victory, three album projects, work with Turkish pop artists, his own label and educational activities behind him.
Tuesday brought him to the international mainstream market, but his subsequent career did not turn into an attempt to endlessly repeat the formula of a single hit. My Life Is Going On confirmed Yeter’s potential as a crossover producer, while later house, tech house and techno releases broadened the project’s stylistic foundation.
At the same time, he consistently developed the concert side of his work — from live guitar in DJ sets and performances with string and symphonic ensembles to Space Concerts and the record-setting One Day in Space.
It is precisely the combination of DJing, studio production, instrumental training and technologically complex live projects that most accurately characterises Burak Yeter as an artist — far more completely than describing him simply as the «creator of the hit Tuesday» or associating him exclusively with deep house.
